This policy explains how tips flow through Tipzi — fees, payout timing, refunds, and disputes — for both Customers sending tips and Employees receiving them.
01 — How Tipping Works
Customers can send a digital tip to any verified Employee profile. Tips are processed securely by Stripe and are charged to the payment method the Customer provides at checkout.
To receive tips, an Employee must connect a bank account via Stripe Connect. Until that connection is complete and verified, a profile cannot receive tips.
02 — Fees
Tipzi charges a platform service fee of 3% on each successful tip, deducted before the remaining amount is transferred to the Employee. This fee is shown at the point of Stripe Connect onboarding and on the Employee dashboard.
Stripe also applies its own standard payment processing fees as part of handling the transaction. Full details of Stripe's fees are available from Stripe directly.
Tip amounts must be between £1 and £10,000 per transaction.
03 — Payouts
Tips are transferred automatically to the Employee's connected bank account. Payouts typically arrive within 2–7 business days of the tip being sent, depending on the Employee's bank and Stripe's payout schedule.
Employees can view payout status and manage their connected account at any time from the Stripe dashboard, accessible via their Tipzi dashboard.
04 — Refunds & Disputes
Tips are generally non-refundable once confirmed, as they represent a completed payment to the Employee. If you believe a tip was sent in error, was unauthorised, or a transaction issue occurred, contact us at support@tipzi.app within 7 days of the transaction.
We will review disputes on a case-by-case basis. Where a refund is appropriate, it may be issued to the original payment method, subject to Stripe's processing timelines.
05 — Chargebacks & Fraud
If a Customer initiates a chargeback with their bank or card issuer, Tipzi and Stripe will investigate in line with Stripe's dispute process. Accounts found to be using tips for fraudulent purposes, money laundering, or to circumvent this policy will be suspended.
06 — Taxes
Employees are responsible for determining and meeting any tax obligations arising from tips received through the Platform. Tipzi does not provide tax advice and does not withhold tax from tip payments.
07 — Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, including fee amounts. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated "Last updated" date and, where fees change, provide at least 30 days' notice via email or dashboard notice.
